Since 2013, Dominican artist Maria Batlle explores the benefits of music, visual arts and technology with Deaf students and is the founder of the Maria Batlle Foundation, which creates inclusion in education. Maria has been invited as Guest Lecturer at Yale, Columbia, NYU, Elon Musk's TESLA and Sir Richard Branson's private island, Necker. She was recognized as a Harvard PZ 2018 Fellow. Maria is currently nominated for the Princess Girona Foundation International Awards 2019 presided by His Majesty King Felipe VI of Spain.
By connecting sound, touch, and passion-driven learning, Maria has found a human-centered way to make the lives of the deaf community in the DR infinitely richer. If every country, every
region had a project like this, that actually valued people's capacities, we could unleash unimaginable potential in the world.
Maria's wonderful initiatives are disrupting education and inspiring Deaf students.
